Black Forest Airport Lahr is your perfect entry for quick and easy acces into Europa-Park. Shortly after landing, shuttle busses will take you directly to the fun in just 12 minutes. in 2007 charter flight packages from London Luton & Manchester were offered by DER Travel in the UK. More than 3.500 guests took advantage of the hassle free flight packages to Europa-Park. After this first successful charter season more flights are planned for Easter, Summer and Halloween 2008. Special passenger license has been granted 16. June 2006. Charter aircraft with guests visiting Europa-Park can be operated at Black Forest Airport Lahr.
Marketing measures in target markets started. Initial flights estimated in autumn 2006.

General permission for aircraft and helicopters up to 20 tonne MTOW
- Aircraft up to 20 tonnes MTOW are permitted.
- General passenger licence has been turned down and is subject to judicial appeal
- Aircraft over 20 tonnes MTOW are permitted in accordance § 25 Luft VG subject to
  approval by the licensing authority in Freiburg (usually approved)


Current Situation:

16. Juni 2006 Special License for Black Forest Airport Lahr is granted by Regierungspräsidium Freiburg. Charter flights for passengers with destination Europa-Park, Rust, can be handled at Black Forest Airport Lahr.
19. Jan. 2006 Application for a restricted license at Regierungspräsidium Freiburg. Content: License to operate Charter flights with passengers for Europa-Park.
08. Jan. 2006 First charter flight from Vienna (A320) is a complete success. Guests from Austria are witnesses of the flawless cooperation between Europa-Park and Black Forest Airport.
30. Nov. 2005 Babcock&Brown introduce their future plans to the public, together with Europa-Park. Black Forest Airport should operate as “incoming airport” that attracts passengers with charter offers that include entrance and stay at Europa-Park.
28. Sept. 2005 Federal Supreme Court in Leipzig accepts the administrative appeal.
26. Sept. 2005 New Investor: after the bankrupcy of PlaneStation Group plc, England, the Australian Investment Group Babcock&Brown take over 99,7 % shares of Black Forest Airport Lahr.
29. Apr. 2005 The government of Baden-Wuerttemberg appeals against this decision at the Federal Supreme Court in Leipzig. This causes further delay to the new decision of the Regierungspräsidium.
28. Feb. 2005 The Administrative Court of Baden-Wuerttemberg in Mannheim revokes the decision of the Regierungspräsidium Freiburg to deny the passenger license. The Regierungspräsidium has to decide again.
24. Aug. 2004 Black Forest Airport Lahr supported by PlaneStation Group plc as parent company submits action against the decision of the licensing authority.
04. Aug. 2004 Decision of the Regierungspräsidium as licensing authority NOT to allow BFAL to be a General Civil Airport.
